Separate price from mix
Compare net prices on matched customer and product lines to see what a price increase retained. Group sales and combined price-and-mix measures leave that question open.
Reported by the companies
GWA, owner of Caroma, sells bathroom and kitchen products. It reported an Australian price increase of about 4% in FY25. Its results grouped price and mix and said mix offset much of the gain.
Coventry supplies fasteners and cabinet hardware through Konnect and Artia. It reported 2.4% Trade Distribution sales growth in FY26 on a constant-currency basis. Divisional EBITDA before AASB 16 and significant items fell. It identified product mix as a pressure on gross margin.
Bapcor Trade, which includes Burson Auto Parts, reported a price reset and tighter discount controls. Stock availability and customer engagement changed during the same programme.
What we infer
Sales, average prices and profit can move in different directions. Ask Finance for a bridge on matched customer and product lines. Separate volume, product mix, net price and unit cost. Reconcile unmatched items separately.
What remains open
The reports do not isolate net price retention at invoice level. They do not establish how much each action contributed. Keep the stated increase and the matched invoice result as separate lines.
