Where would yours sit in the range?
Pick the size of your business and enter one earnings figure. For larger businesses, pick your sector too. The tool shows the multiples that similar businesses sold at, and your figure at those multiples. Nothing you enter leaves this page.
What moves a business up or down the range?
- Size. Larger deals sell at higher multiples, in every sector with enough deals to compare.
- Growth already in the numbers. A buyer pays for growth it can see in the run-rate.
- Customer concentration. One large customer on a handshake pulls the multiple down.
- Quality of earnings. Add-backs without evidence are argued down or taken out.
- Dependence on the owner. A business that runs without the owner is easier to buy.
