Worksheet · Strategy Health Check
Take the strategy to the organisation in person
An email announces a strategy. People take it on when a leader explains it to their face and answers their questions. This sheet plans the sessions and checks what landed. It builds the Competent step of the check:
The strategy has been communicated in person, in plain language, and people can connect their work to it.
Step 1. Plan the sessions
| Audience | Headcount | Leader who presents | Format | Date | Top three questions asked | Answers given | Follow-up owed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| e.g. Warehouse and delivery teams | 120 | COO | Site meeting, two shifts | 3 March | Will the new service mean weekend work? | Not this year; roster review in June | Publish the June roster plan |
Write the answers down and publish them. The unanswered questions are the ones people repeat.
Step 2. Track support in the leadership group
| Leader or group | Support now (on board, coming round, neutral, against) | Who follows up | How often |
|---|---|---|---|
Step 3. Check what landed
Three weeks after the last session, ask ten people two levels below the leadership team two questions.
- What is the strategy, in your words?
- What does it mean for your own work?
| Person's role | Answer 1 matches the strategy? | Answer 2 links their work to it? |
|---|---|---|
Done when: every team has heard it in person from a leader, and seven of ten people asked link their work to it.
