Worksheet · Transformation Readiness Check
Free the leads before launch
Leads told the programme is their priority, with nothing taken off their plate, drift back to the day job. This sheet takes work off each lead, funds the cover and writes down what pauses in the busy season. It builds the Competent step of the check:
Workstream leads are freed or backfilled for the programme, and the effect of the busy season on the plan is written down.
Step 1. What comes off each lead's plate
| Lead | Time on the programme (%) | Tasks handed off | Handed to | Backfill cost ($k) | In the budget? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| e.g. Supply manager | 100 | Weekly planning meeting; supplier reviews | Deputy; contract planner for six months | 90 | Yes |
A day-to-day lead needs close to full time. A top-team leader needs about a quarter of a week.
Step 2. The busy season
| Month | Busy? | What the programme pauses | What carries on |
|---|---|---|---|
Under 50 people: before launch, take named tasks off the people leading the change, or pay for part-time help to cover them. Write down what the change pauses in the busy season.
Done when: each lead's handed-off tasks and backfill are named and funded, and the busy-season plan is written.
