Worksheet · Transformation Readiness Check
Switch off the old way
This sheet is for a programme already running; the check asks this row only then. It makes each delivered benefit the default. The old way goes, the new level enters the budget with one name on it, and a check follows each quarter. It builds the Competent step of the check:
Each delivered benefit is in next year's budget and on someone's scorecard, and the old way has been switched off.
Step 1. The lock-in register
| Benefit delivered | The old way (process, role, budget line) | Switched off on, and how | New level in next year's budget? | On whose scorecard | Still there? (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| e.g. Central approval of discounts | Reps set their own deals | 1 July: the system blocks discounts above the list | Yes, discount line down 1.5 points | Pricing manager | |
Step 2. Four checks for each benefit
- Is the old process, headcount or budget line still there to fall back on?
- Does a system, a control or a form now make the new way the easy way?
- Is the benefit in the budget, so a slip shows as a variance?
- Who answers for it after the programme team moves on?
Gains that last come from changed processes. Gains that depend on someone watching drift back.
Under 50 people: switch off the old way and write the new level into next year's plan with one person's name on it. Check each quarter that it is still there.
Done when: every delivered benefit has its old way switched off, sits in next year's budget and is on a named scorecard.
