Worksheet · Transformation Readiness Check
Design each initiative with the people who do the work
People move from "I have been told" to "I helped shape this" when they are asked early and hear what happened to their ideas. This sheet puts them on the design team and closes the loop. It builds the Competent step of the check:
The people whose work changes sat on the team that designed the initiative, and their objections changed the design.
Step 1. Who sits on each design team
| Initiative | Whose work changes | Two or three of them on the design team | Their manager agreed the time? |
|---|---|---|---|
| e.g. New order-taking process | Customer service, warehouse pickers | One service rep, one picker, one team leader | Yes, half a day a week for six weeks |
Step 2. Objections and what changed
| Initiative | Objection raised | Raised by (role) | What changed in the design | If nothing changed, why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Step 3. Ideas from the floor
| Idea | From (team) | Received | Answer due | Taken or not | Reason given back |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Give every idea a date for its answer. An idea that gets no answer teaches people to stop offering.
Under 50 people: ask the people whose work changes to help design each initiative, and give a date for the answer. Tell them which ideas were taken and why.
Done when: each design team includes people whose work changes, and the log shows at least one design change that came from their objections.
