Worksheet · Operating Model Health Check
Give every standing meeting a decision, or close it
It prints on A4 with room to write.
Standing meetings multiply, and each one takes the diary of the people who run the business. This sheet lists them with the decisions they made, then closes or merges the empty ones. It builds the Competent step of the check:
Each standing meeting has a written purpose that says which decisions it is allowed to make.
Step 1. List every standing meeting
| Meeting | How often | Who attends | Hours a year, all attendees | Decisions made last quarter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| e.g. Monthly operations meeting | Monthly | 9 managers | 216 | None recorded |
Step 2. Close, merge or keep
| Meeting | Close, merge into, or keep | Reason |
|---|---|---|
A meeting with an empty decisions column is the first to close or merge.
Step 3. Write each survivor's purpose
| Meeting | Purpose, in one line | Decisions it may make | Decisions it must pass up | Attendees | How often |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Done when: every standing meeting left has a written purpose that names the decisions it may make.
