Worksheet · KPIs and Incentives Health Check
Put the scoreboard where people can see it
Staff who learn how the business did from the size of their bonus cannot steer by it. This sheet publishes the objectives and each team's measures, updated monthly without asking finance. It builds the Competent step of the check:
Every team can see the business's objectives and the measures it owns, updated at least monthly, without asking finance.
Step 1. The scoreboard plan
| Team | Where it is shown (wall, screen, shared page) | Business objectives shown | The team's own measures | Measures of teams it depends on | Updated by | Update day |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| e.g. Warehouse | Screen by the dispatch desk | All five | On time in full; pick errors | Sales forecast accuracy | Shift supervisor | First Monday |
Step 2. What stays private, and why
| Number | Kept from | Reason |
|---|---|---|
If a number is kept from the people who move it, write down why.
Under 50 people: put the objectives and the few numbers that track them on a wall or shared screen staff see every day. Update them monthly without waiting for the accountant.
Done when: every team can see the objectives and its own measures, updated in the last month, without asking finance.
