How much Australian businesses said they would raise prices
This page collects price rises that businesses announced themselves, in statements, reports and letters to customers. Each year shows the median stated rise, overall and by sector.
In 2025, to October, stated rises were smaller than in 2024 in both sets of sectors we track.
These are rises businesses announced, in the announcements in our database. A business that raised prices without announcing it is not counted.
A stated rise is what the business said it would do. Discounts and deals can leave customers paying less.

Too few means fewer than five stated rises from five businesses or bodies. Held back means showing it would let a nearby figure be worked out by subtraction. None found means no stated rise that year.

Rises set by a regulator or for a whole industry
Some rises are set by a regulator, such as water, electricity and ferry fares, or are set for a whole industry at once. They are shown on their own line, apart from the rises businesses set themselves.
